Gift of Art

Pull it Together Paint Set

I don't know about you but I love to see a child's face when they blend colors and find out what it makes. Then when they actually paint they enjoy it so much.

So this is where I'm going with this. Put together a box of odds and end paint stuff. For me it is brushes I bought then didn't use for this reason or that. I gathered some smooth wood blocks, painting paper, cement blocks and some child's paint.

But you could also go with finger paints and a large roll of paper for them to really go to town. Throw in a picture frame so that they can hang what they make. For things like this there really is no rules. It's like recycling in gift form.

You don't have to go to the stores and spend an arm and a leg for a paint kit that holds one measly project. Just get one of the large cheap packs of brushes and a set of paints go home and look through what you already have. Wood, paper, cardboard, cement whatever.

Children are not picky. Most of the time they just like the process the best. Put it up when it's dry for all to see for a week or so then ask your child what they would like to do with it. The added bonus to this gift is that parents can join in.
